A member of the Westchester County Police Department reported to the North Castle Police Department shortly before 1 p.m. on Aug. 3 that there was a piece of a large tree in the roadway, near IBM and Swiss Re, blocking the roadway to motorists attempting to drive through the area.
An officer from the North Castle Police Department was dispatched to the location, and was able to move the large, rotted tree trunk that was laying across the road onto the side. He then went on to cordon off the area and made it accessible to traffic until members of the New York State Department of Transportation could arrive.
Other items on the North Castle Police Department blotter from Saturday, Aug. 4 through Friday, Aug. 10 include:
- Employees from the Townhouse Diner reported to police that a car had been parked in their private lot for several days, and sought assistance in locating the owner. A North Castle police officer was able to track down the owner, and left a voicemail instructing her to remove the vehicle from the lot. Officers then advised the employees about how to have the vehicle towed, if need be.
- Officers were dispatched to Whippoorwill Road at approximately 2:20 a.m. on Aug. 5, when a caller reported that his brother, who was intoxicated, had walked off 40 minutes earlier, walking on Route 22 in the area of Route 120. The caller said his brother is 27 years old and was last seen wearing light gray dress pants and a light purple dress shirt. Officers were able to locate the man, who was returned to the vehicle without further incident.
